Last Day at the GSO

Prepare yourself for a waffle.

I'm sitting in the Graduate School (Office) on my last day (possibly) here. On Monday morning, I'll be working for Aim Higher: P4P, at the Science Park, Wolverhampton.

So, how do I feel? Mainly hot. The heating is on, so it's like a sauna in here. There's only two temperatures in the GSO - freezing cold or boiling hot. We've gone for the latter just now. Other than that? Mmmm... dunno...

Smug because I've got all the work done that I aimed to - which gives the GSO breathing space for a month. I've worked bloody hard these past couple of weeks to make that happen, and, by the time I leave at 5, I will have worked back precisely the hours I took to take Lenny around the Black Country...

Mithered, because I still have to clear my desk and I can't judge if that's a two second job or an hour job. I certainly seem to have a fair few books here. Plus I can't work out how I'm going to get them to my car and still get to have a drink with Chris Nelson. Mmmm...

Pondering about my mini Zen garden. It was a present from Shonna, but I don't have the box, so if I try to take it home I'll lose all of the sand. :-( Oh! Cancel that, I've found the box and the little bag for the sand is still in it. Bloody Hell, I'm organized! That's frightening!

Overwhelmed, because people keep giving me presents and they leave at different times, so I keep having little speeches said to me as they go. Heather and I were both nearly in tears when she went.

I've got a 'Grow your own Sunflower' and a gnome on a mushroom from Laura; I have £35 worth of Waterstones book vouchers from the whole office; and Heather... here's how I told the Grove at just gone 11 this morning:

Flustered because I've come without my money and cards - so I can't book the theatre tickets for Jim; I can't renew my library books (MUST MUST MUST DO THAT FROM HOME LATER!); and I can't nip into Waterstones and have a last minute spending spree supervised by BS Kate. Even more importantly, I can't nip in the New Age shops and get something for Lady Othilia. It's her birthday TODAY! I don't know what time she's home, as she's on a 12 hour today up the Ambulance switchboard.

Thirsty... must... have... a... cuppa... shall I make one or see if I have enough for a Fair Trade Latte? :-D Laura will love me forever and ever, amen, if I'm heading towards the Fair Trade Latte. She's on her own, so can't go herself. I'll be nice and do that then.
